Lovely hotel, restaurant and bar in the outer South West of Edinburgh. Quiet location outside of the city, wonderfully tranquil and quiet for a night in at the hotel with secure off street parking. We had booked a table for the restaurant and the food was upper end pub food - nice, and portions were good. Nice selection of food and drink available, and the wines were not bad either. Service was great throughout, and attentive, so I tipped bigger than normal. Rooms are fine and come with en suite and basics, and I found the bed comfy. We were there for just one night so not a heap of luggage, but plenty of room space. The only let-down was low water pressure in the shower in my room - it trickled out, but something they are aware of and going to rectify, they said. Breakfast we also great - individually cooked orders from the menu options, so just ask for how many of each constituent you would like; eight pieces of bacon? no problem. Very good, and would happily stay again and recommend.

Great pub and inn. The hosts, Hazel and Jeff are superb! Highly recommended. The room was spacious and the en-suite perfectly adequate and larger than expected. There is no wardrobe, but it doesn't bother me as a solo traveller. The bed was super comfortable. Large car park and terrace to front and back. Tuesday night quizz seems to be a hit with the locals. The location may put some people off, as it's a half hour bus ride to Princess st. But the stop is just outside the pub and you get to see a bit of the countryside. Otherwise just 10min drive by car.

The place was very cozy, the food was beyond delicious, the service and the people were very friendly and nice. We were very pleased in our stay there. We're definitely coming back here. They have the best hot chocolate I've ever taste.

Visiting from Texas while on vacation, and we stopped in for a bite. Exceptional food and friendly service!! We had the halloumi fries and cauliflower wings to start then shared the burger. All were delicious!! We finished with the sticky toffee pudding with toffee fudge and vanilla ice cream…to die for!!
